Cardinals are very hard to see in the dash camera that I have. Maybe I will be able to get a higher quality dash cam one day. Check the screenshots before watching the video so that you can better pick out what is happening when watching the video.

A cardinal flies down onto the roadway as I approach. Barely noticeable in the dash cam, but easy to see in person. Note the red circle location when watching the video, use the mailbox for reference.

As we approach (my oldest daughter in the car) it sits in the road and watches us.

The cardinal literally waits until we are basically beside it before it flies away.

A few seconds later a blackbird makes an appearance which is much easier to see.
