I was getting ready to take the dog out, looked out the window beside the door and about 8ft away was a bright red male cardinal. I’m watching it, call my wife over and the dog is jumping up and down wanting to go out. The bird looked at us, jumped on the head of… Continue reading Male Cardinal at the Window
I decided to get a memorial tattoo symbolic of what I write about here. My oldest daughter drew me a picture for Father’s Day along with a heartfelt letter. It was the perfect symbolism for me to use to base a tattoo from. I knew if I was going to do this I would have… Continue reading Memorial Tattoo
So I had just filled the feeder and suet cage and was sitting in the driveway. I was treated to a hummingbird sighting. He buzzed over to the feeder probably drawn to the red color. When he saw their wasn’t anything for him he departed directly over my head! Unfortunately no pictures as it happened… Continue reading Hummingbird!
My wife was just getting ready to go out the door when she spotted this fella and called me over with the camera. Unfortunately the camera battery died before I could get any more pictures.
This Indigo Bunting had been seen for a few days and this is the first picture I had gotten of it. Absolutely beautful and very calming. It is a member of the cardinal family. Sorry the pictures aren’t very sharp. This was a very special treat and I haven’t seen it since.
Haven’t posted in a few. A bear got to the bird feeder and I just replaced it today. Last Saturday I was sitting in the driveway and got a visit from this girl. It is very calming to have birds be that close and just watch them. Bear Destruction, new branch hook on the left… Continue reading Short Cardinal Video
This rabbit wasn’t moving until I got out of the car. I honked and he barely moved until I opened the door and the other car drive up. The other car only stopped because my car door was open blocking part of the other lane and my hazards were on.
This is the first time I have spotted what I believe to be an Eastern Towhee. It’s hard to see the eyes which should be red in this picture. Below are the other birds I was able to get pictures of this morning.
I swear this looked like a cardinal or rust colored bird but in the video it looks grey. When I was leaving for church and when I was returning this looks like the same bird – only have a dashcam shot and screenshots from when I returned (below).
I did a little bird watching this morning to try to refill the emotional well and was treated to these sightings. Blue Jays Cardinal Downy Woodpecker
