A friend dropped off a Rose bush somewhere around a month ago. The first night a deer ate every single rose flower off the plant. We kept it watered and a couple of weeks ago I finally planted it hoping it would survive. It finally bloomed another rose. Update 8-17-18 This blossom really opened up… Continue reading A Single Rose Blossom
The hummingbird feeder is getting a lot of activity. After this was taken I was standing looking out in the yard and saw this red dot coming straight from the tree in the middle of the yard. It was some kind of hummingbird with a red chest and it fed right when I was… Continue reading Hummingbird Feeder
I was stopping at a Rural King to buy bird seed as I was completely out. As I approached the bird products aisle there were 4 birds that were in the aisle and stayed close by for a few minutes while I shopped.
So last night My son and I watched a momma bear and 2 cubs take down the bird feeder hanging from the tree by breaking the branch and then eating the seeds from the feeder while it was on the ground. I then watched the bear climb on top of our car and check the… Continue reading Bears and Hummingbirds

I was only able to get 1 quick picture of the male, but he had 2 females he was flying around with. They came pretty close multiple times, but i… Continue reading Three Days of Cardinals
I decided to get a memorial tattoo symbolic of what I write about here. My oldest daughter drew me a picture for Father’s Day along with a heartfelt letter. My wife was just getting ready to go out the door when she spotted this fella and called me over with the camera. Unfortunately the camera battery died before I could get any more pictures.
This Indigo Bunting had been seen for a few days and this is the first picture I had gotten of it. Absolutely beautful and very calming. It is a member of the cardinal family. Sorry the pictures aren’t very sharp. This was a very special treat and I haven’t seen it since.
Haven’t posted in a few. A bear got to the bird feeder and I just replaced it today. Last Saturday I was sitting in the driveway and got a visit from this girl. It is very calming to have birds be that close and just watch them. Bear Destruction, new branch hook on the left… Continue reading Short Cardinal Video
